  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (Cold and cubed)
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (For glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (For glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Combine wet and dry mixtures gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a rectangle about 1 inch thick; cut into triangles or squares.
  7. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. While baking, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and milk together until smooth.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm scones before serving.
